Every year throughout the last decade has left us with unique and progressive trends in technology, and more specifically, in internet gambling. Internet casinos are on the forefront of technological advancement and follow right behind movement in technological change.

For the ninth year in a row, US based firm Spectrum Gaming Group has put out its expected trends for the year in the gambling industry. In the report just released for the year of 2013, nearly half of the major anticipated trends revolve around internet and mobile gaming.

Some of Spectrum’s predictions for the year include:

  • Further and more prominent integration between online casinos and gaming companies and large social networks. With the popularity of social networking over the past few years, it is expected that internet gambling will naturally evolve into more social platforms and also enter into the social network app market on a larger scale.
  • Government run lotteries will become less popular thanks to advances in and the popularity of online gambling. Government agencies may either move their operations online or contract out to private companies to assist in managing online based lotteries on their behalf.
  • As more and more laws are enacted all over the world to regulate online gambling, many of the large online casinos will begin building physical locations in certain locales in order to take advantage of internet gaming laws available.
  • While more and more countries are passing laws to control gambling online, more advanced geolocation and age verification software and practices will need to be implemented by online casinos in order to ensure compliance with a countless number of regulations and regulatory agencies across the world.
